Steve Clinton Lawson

LAWSON, Steve C., age 91, of Dayton, OH, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016. He was born to the late Anderson and Willa Mae Lawson on June 24, 1924 in Knoxville, TN. Steve served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired as a structural steel worker (iron worker local 290) after 60 years of employment. Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his garden. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elsie E. Lawson. Steve is survived by his son, Rick Lawson; grandchildren, Rick (Laurie) Lawson, Catie (Rod) Fryman, Barry (Autumn) Lawson, Sarah (Nicholas) Tozier and Andy Lawson; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Dayton and Greenbriar Nursing Home for the compassionate care they gave to Steve. Family will greet friends from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St. Centerville, OH. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the visitation at 6:00pm. Burial at Union Cemetery in Newport, TN.
