FELIX, Steven, age 57, formerly of Bronx, NY passed away in Columbus, OH on Friday, December 24th 2021. Steven was a hard, dedicated worker. From the very early age of 17, he joined the IBEW Local 3 Union. He began at McPhilben as a spot welder and then moved up to reading Blueprint & Code. He eventually moved to the J-Division as a street light and traffic maintenance lead. He then finished out his career as a dispatcher before his retirement from the Union. Steven was recently baptized at Christian Life Assembly in Pennsylvania. He was very proud to be reconnected with the Lord. He was known best for his outstanding wit and incredible humor. Anyone who knew Steven, knows how funny he was. He has left us with a lifetime of laughter and memories. He was also known for his amazing kindness and overwhelming generosity towards others. He was an avid billiards player and enthusiast. He loved outdoor activities and sports like fishing, softball, baseball, and was a die-hard sports fan. He loved the New York Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers. He was a devoted family man who loved traveling, especially to his beautiful island of Puerto Rico and lived there for a few years. He was very proud of his Puerto Rican roots and heritage. He loved and kept exotic animals like monkeys, alligators, parakeets, sugar gliders, and exotic fish including piranhas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Del Pilar Torres and his father, Esteban Felix; as well as his sister, Yvonne Felix Jilani. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Rosie, Margie, Nancy, Emily, Angie, Iris, Esperanza, Edward, Fernando, Yvette, Caridad, and Mercedes; his countless nieces and nephews, especially, Maria (Mechie) and her daughters, Ashley, Lila, and Emily who he loved dearly; his fiancé, Mercedes Hernandez and her children; as well as all of his brothers from Local 3.
The service will begin at 4:00PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. STROOP RD., KETTERING. The family would like to express their thanks for the help and care given by The James Cancer Hospital and a special thanks to all who loved him and those he loved dearly.
