Steven Wade Johnston

age 49, of Centerville, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 1, 2005, at Miami Valley Hospital. Born on October 1, 1955, to David B. & Norma J. Johnston in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Centerville Bible College and Temple Baptist College. Steve was a devoted husband of 25 years to wife, Cheryl, a loving father to son, Joel A., and daughter, Kate M.. His parents, David and Norma Johnston precede him in death. Survived by sisters, Cynthia Johnston of Seattle, Washington; Linda Wyatt and husband, Terry of Atlanta, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, John and Connie Atchley of Wilmington; nieces and nephews, Brian, Jennifer, Seth, Jessica, Victoria, Billy and Rachel; 2 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews; and many dear friends. Steve ministered for 15 years as an Associate Pastor at Cross Point Church of Centerville. He also taught at Centerville Bible College for 17 years. For the last 18 months, Steve has been employed at Boehringer Ingelheim as a Pharmaceutical Representative. He was an active member for 22 years at Cross Point Church and a current member of Vineyard Church of Dayton. Steve’s passions in life were his family, teaching the Bible in his church in other parts of the world, helping and ministering people to see the goodness and grace of God, the Ohio State Buckeyes, all things Harley Davidson and telling a good story. He will be deeply missed by all of us. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 4th from 5:00-8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd, Kettering, Ohio. Funeral Service Wednesday, January 5th at 10:00am at Vineyard Church of Dayton, 4051 Indian Ripple Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio, with Rev. Timothy Forsthoff officiating.
