Sung Van Nguyen

Tmas Nguyen Van Sung, age 80, of Dayton, passed away on January 8, 2017. He was born in Vietnam on October 8, 1936 to Nguyen Van Triet and Luy Thi Nguyen. Sung served in the Vietnamese Navy until 1975. He worked in the Truck and Bus group at Frigidair/GM for over 20 years. Sung was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mai T Nguyen; his parents; and sister, Ton Thi Nguyen. Sung is survived by his children, Loan Nguyen, Trang Nguyen, Hoang Nguyen, Oanh (Chris) Nguyen-Pearson, My Nguyen, and Quoc Nguyen; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Noah; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family will greet friends from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 217 W. 4th St., Dayton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. The family would like to thank the staff and physicians at Hospice of Dayton for all their care and compassion.
