Susan Mary Wicklund

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the forthcoming Celebration of Life for Susan Mary Chakrian Wicklund, who passed away on March 2, 2024. A beloved wife to Lloyd (Skip), a cherished mother to her sons Allen, Kent, and Brett (Crystal), and a devoted grandmother to Tia, Bryant, Lainey, and Ashley, and loving sister to Carol (Wynn) Warner. Susan's legacy of love and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. 

Born in 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, Susan pursued her passion for art education, culminating in a degree from Miami University. Together with her husband, she established Contemporary Galleries in Centerville, Ohio, in 1975, where they showcased quality Mid Century Modern and European Furniture. This venture led them to the inception of Inspaces in 1996, offering business and residential furniture along with interior design services. Giving back, she also focused on non-profit projects and Learning Centers for Magic Johnson.

Susan enjoyed teaching art and special needs children in grades K through 12. She advocated for their holistic development and fostered artistic expression in all those she encountered. She was active in various civic projects and a Board member of the Scandinavian Society of Cincinnati. Susan's insatiable love for learning and boundless creativity left an indelible mark on those she touched.

The Celebration of Susan's Life is scheduled to take place at Routsong Funeral Home on March 11th 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, Ohio 45429. A final farewell will occur March 12th 2024 at 11:00 am at Routsong Funeral Home followed by her being laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Susan’s name to Clutter 2 Care, 8685 Fields Ertel Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45249.

As we prepare to honor and remember the life and contributions of Susan Wicklund, let us gather in unity to pay our respects to a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
