KERLIN, Sylvester B. Jr., “Bill”, age 87, of Springboro passed away Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Hillspring Health Care Center in Springboro. Sylvester was a 1934 graduate of Oakwood High School and received his degree from Purdue University in 1938. He served in the United States Army during WWII directly under General Eisenhower at supreme command headquarters off the southern coast of England. He met his wife Valerie in Belfast where she was serving in the Royal Air Force. Sylvester retired after many years as an Independent Insurance Agent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie; daughter, Katie; brother, Tom; and sister Mary Lou Passmore; Sylvester is survived by his son, Peter Kerlin of Jacksonville, FL; 2 daughters, Kristina Cadden of Indianapolis, IN and Patricia Kerlin of Franklin, OH; 7 grandchildren, Marcia, Stefanie, Mary, Jacob, Clint and Brad; 5 great grandchildren, Bryant, Jordan, Caleb, Nicholas and Makayla; and brother James Kerlin. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM at Springboro Cemetery, with Rev. Dan Kincer officiating. In memory of Sylvester, contributions may be made to Hillspring Health Care Center, 325 E. Central Ave., Springboro, OH 45066.
