Sylvia Eunice Shively

SHIVELY, Sylvia Eunice, age 93, formerly of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011. Eunice graduated from Steele High School in 1936 and received her BS degree from Miami University in Oxford 1940. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, PEO chapter DS, Progressive Mothers, College Club, Gourmet Club South, Suburban Investment Club, Crestwood Sewing Club, Antique Study Club and the African Violet Society. Eunice enjoyed traveling around the world with family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Gerace Schauer of Dayton; brother, Dr. Robert Schauer of Fairborn; and husband John H. Shively, Jr.. She is also the niece of the late Martha K. Schauer, artist, of Dayton. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Cindy and husband Ted Latimere of Roswell, GA.; son, John and wife Evelyn Shively of Seattle, WA.; 4 grandchildren, Traci and Terri Latimere, and Benjamin and Jennifer Shively; sister-in-law, Wilma and husband Richard Back; and many nieces and nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 on Thursday, June 23, 2011 with a service following at 12:00pm at Woodland Cemetery mausoleum chapel, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton with Rev. Gary Eichhorn, pastor of Lutheran Church of Our Savior, officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery. The family would like to express our thanks for all the wonderful help and care given by her friends and the personnel at Lincoln Park Manor where Eunice spent her final days.
