(Kain), age 91, of Kettering, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2001. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Dayton where she taught a Sunday School class. Thelma was also a member of Christian Women's Society and the Dayton Music Club. She enjoyed many crafts, playing bridge and was instrumental in establishing the first blood bank of the Miami Valley area. Thelma retired from Dayton State Mental Health Hospital as a medical technician in 1976. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Ritter; sister, Lucille Welner; daughter-in-law, Connie Kain; and son-in-law, Raymond Stueve. Survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Stueve of Huber Heights and Marilou Miller and her husband, Ronald of Kettering; son, Todd Kain of Evansville, IN; 5 grandsons, John, Mark and David Stueve and Alan and Kevin Kain; 2 granddaughters, Jill Wallace and Carolyn North; 3 great grandsons; 6 great granddaughters; 4 great great grandchildren; step daughter and family, Gloria and Sterg Nikides. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heartland of Kettering for the tender, loving care given to Thelma. It was greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, in Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., Oakwood, with Dr. Richard Bausman officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Burial in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery at the family's convenience.
