WESTBELD, Thelma L, (Eifert), age 86, formerly of Kettering passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was a Graduate of Patterson Co-Op in 1946.
She was an active member of Ascension Church and a former member of St. Anthony's church in Dayton. Thelma was best known for her warm, inviting smile, sparkling blue/hazel eyes and warm and generous heart. She was a member of the Ascension parent/teacher organization, Carroll High School Athletic Boosters and a breast cancer survivor.
She was preceded in death to her beloved husband of 48 years Clarence M Westbeld, parents Otto and Coletta (Reinhard) Eifert, brothers Carl and Ernie, and sisters Rosena Mauch, Dolores Weber, and Bernice (Sr. Susan). She is survived by brothers Paul, Melvin and Earl M.D., sisters Dorothy and Norma Salmons, sons and daughters Jean Pummill, William (Carol), Thomas (Vickie), Susan (Jeffery) Cherry, Carol (Robert) Leedy, James (Susan), John (Leslie), Michele (Bryan) Westbeld-Marshall, twenty grandchildren and "Grandma the Great" to thirteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Ascension Church, 2025 Woodman Dr., Kettering, OH 45420 by Father Chris Worland, immediately followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the Susan B Komen for the Cure foundation or the Ascension Scholarship Fund.
