DIEDERICH, Jr., Thomas Anthony, age 76 of Kettering passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. Thomas served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He received his Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1957 from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Thomas worked the first 20 years of his career in child welfare and the last 20 years of his career as a Social Worker at the VA Hospital. He was a peace activist and a member of the N.A.S.W. and the South Dayton Democratic Party. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Diederich. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley Ann Diederich; children, Amy (Rob) Shaver of Seattle, WA, Thomas (Noriko) Diederich III of San Francisco, CA and Jill (Alberto) Leon of Dayton, OH; cousins, John Diederich of Charlotte, NC, Jean Stouffer of Albuquerque, NM and Ann Kempson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 12noon at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Chaplain Doris Lewis officiating. Family will receive friends from 11AM until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dayton International Peace Museum, 208 W. Monument Ave., Dayton, OH 45402 or to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton, OH 45418. Condolences may be sent to the family via the internet on www.routsong.com
