CREAGER, Thomas A., Sr, (Blitz) age 86, formerly of Oakwood passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was an alumnus of Oakwood High School, Class of 1949 and Denison University, Class of 1953, a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Raine Wagner Creager, son, Tim Creager (Louise) daughter, Paula Creager Powers (Tim) and two grandsons, Grant Powers and Nathan Powers and step daughters and sons, Molly Wagner, Nancy Pike (Steve), Mary Anne Barr, Bo Wagner (Maria) and step grandchildren, Tyler (Tiffany), Rebecca, (Alec), Kathleen, Bennet (Kelsey), Stephen, Will, Mason, Beck, and Grace, and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol Fox Creager in 2001 to whom he was married for 45 years. Among
Toms many accomplishments were President of the Earl D. Creager Construction Company, affiliations with St. Pauls Episcopal Church (Sr. Warden), YMCA Camp Kern (Board-Chair), Home Savings and Loan (Board), Citizens Federal Savings and Loan (Board), Miami Valley Hospital Volunteer (Board), Dayton Rotary (Board), Thirty Niners Club of Dayton, Junto Club of Dayton, Mason Aero Lodge, Scottish Rite, Antioch Shrine. Tom was proud to serve as a Guardian on many missions of Honor Flight for soldiers who served our country in WW2 and took pride in taking them to the WW2 Memorial in Washington, D.C. He also served as a volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital caring for others until the day of his death. Blitz earned his nickname on the tennis courts and football fields during his youth as a lightning quick aggressive running back and tennis player. Those same characteristics, along with a huge heart and passion to help others will serve as his legacy of how focus, determination and compassion can touch so many.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 33 W Dixon Ave, Dayton. Family will receive friends following the service at Dayton Country Club.
