STAMPER, Thomas Eugene "Gene", age 76, of Carlisle passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Heartland of Miamisburg.
He was born on April 25, 1937 in Hazard, KY to the late Nathan and Eola Stamper. Gene served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church and VFW #3438 Hammond Memorial Post.
Gene loved attending Blue Grass Concerts and going to flea markets to find items to add to his knife and coin collection. He loved traveling to Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee multiple times a year to visit all his family members.
Gene is preceded in death by his children, George and Rodney Stamper. He is survived by his children, Nathan Stamper, Beverly (Charles) Short, Lonnie Stamper, Paul Stamper, Genie (Roberto) Vigo and Kathy Lema; grandchildren, Rebecca, Rodney, Sara, Kaycie, Andy, Josh, Brandy, Jessica, Jessie, Nathan, Tyler, Karmen, Beto and many others; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tommy, Bobby (Vicki) and Danny; sisters, Betty Dean, Carol, Donna (Steve) and Kathy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Family will greet friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery.
