Thomas Richard Jervis

JERVIS, Thomas Richard, age 84, long time resident of Oakwood, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013. Tom was born to the late John and Mary Jervis in Chicago, IL on April 24, 1929. In 1951, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in business, and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Tom was an officer in the Navy for 4 years during the Korean Conflict. He was a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch for 48 years. He opened the Dayton office in 1955. Tom was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Dayton County Club, and Charter member of Sycamore Country Club. He was an avid UC Bearcats fan and also enjoyed the Reds and Bengals. Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Manthey; children, Jeri Jervis, Janna (Mark) Erbaugh, Thomas (Lynne) Jervis, and John (Lori) Jervis; grandchildren, Kristin (Brent) Kassmann, Kaitlin Schmidt, JT and John Erbaugh, Thomas III and Katie Jervis, and Trent, Logan, Taylor Jervis; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Carter Kassmann; sister, Mary Ann Jervis brother, James (Peggy) Jervis and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering. In memory and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509 New York, NY 10018 or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
