Thomas W. Kerlin

KERLIN, Thomas W., of Winchester, VA passed away in his sleep peacefully on November 17, 2002. Tom was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on August 11, 1926. Thomas is the youngest of four children born to Sylvester Bell Kerlin, and Ethel Marie Hilgeman. He is survived by his spouse, Mary E. Kerlin of Winchester, VA; 2 sons, Timothy Rensler Kerlin, of Kauai, HA, and Thomas Michael Kerlin of Olympia, WA; sister, Mary Louise Passmore, of Scottsdale, AZ; 2 brothers, Sylvester Bell Kerlin, Jr. of Brookville, OH, and James T. Kerlin, of Pismo Beach, CA; grandchildren, Amy Beth Kerlin, of Casselberry, FL, Courtney Marie Kerlin and Adam Rensler Kerlin of Kauai, HA. He is also survived by three daughters and seven grandchildren. Mr. Kerlin was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. He graduated from the University of Miami, Oxford, OH and attended graduate school at The University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. He was career civcil service employee with the Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force. During his civil service career he received two Meritorious Civilian Service awards from the Department of the Air Force. After retirement he continued to enjoy time with his friends, and his family whom he loved dearly. His memories, and love and joy for life shall live on through each person he touched. His words of wisdom, friendship, and compassion shall be missed by all. We all will miss him as a spouse, dad, grandpa, friend, and as many called him 'Ole Thom'. Alll our love to you as you continue your journey. Services and celebration will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2002, at 10:00 A.M., at the Rousong Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel, 81 N.
