Todd M. Nikolai

NIKOLAI, Todd Matthew, 40, devoted husband of Wendy (Scheidler) Nikolai and loving father of Carina Nikolai, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Kettering Medical Center. Todd was born July 23, 1967 in San Mateo, California to Mary Ann and Jerry Nikolai, who preceded him in death. He graduated Cum Laude from Wright State University with a degree in marketing. Todd was a wine enthusiast and loved every aspect of the wine industry. He was employed by Vintner Select in Cincinnati, and previously by Robert Pecota Winery and Dorothy Lane Market. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his siblings: Teri (Jack) Wilson, Tim (Kathryn) Nikolai, Tom (Carol) Nikolai, and Ted (Michele) Nikolai. The Scheidler family also mourns the loss of a loving son and brother-in-law: Tom and Earlyn Scheidler, Doug Scheidler, Laurie and Terry King, Bill and Tricia Moorman and Kathy Scheidler. His nieces and nephews will miss him dearly: Josh and Evan Wilson; Aaron and Andrew Nikolai; Grace, Alex, Joe and Claire Nikolai; Emma and Anna Nikolai; Taylor, Caitlin, Grant, Lauren and Caroline King; Will, Greyson and Kiera Moorman; and Doug and Madison Scheidler. Todd's wit, humor, and genuine compassion was surpassed only by his love for his family, work, friends and co-workers. His final gift was organ donation. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6 from 3:30-7:30 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429, where Todd served on Parish Council. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any First Financial Bank for the Carina Nikolai Education Fund.
