GERBIG, Ursula Margot, formerly of Fayetteville, NC passed away on March 17, 2012 at the age of 80.
Ursula was born in Germany on May 11, 1931 and moved to America in 1946 where she taught herself to speak English. She worked at Black & Decker for a long time and was a member of the Lady Auxiliary VFW post # 670 in Fayetteville, NC. Ursula was known by all her loved ones as a strong, caring woman who was always thoughtful and was one "tough cookie".
Preceded in death by her husbands, Wilbur Abbott and Edwin Gerbig. Ursula is survived by her children, Connie (Ken) Gerbig and Dwayne (Norma Jean) Abbott; grandchildren, Wally, Kelly, Kyle, and Chris; great-grandchildren on the way, Julia and Peyton; and special friends, Diana Maness and Randy White.
There will be a gathering at Connie's home on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm to celebrate Ursula's life. In the words of mom, "In lieu of flowers, save your money". The family would like to thank the caring staff at Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community for their help.
