BERKELEY, Van Hamm Wilshire age 58, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Sieverville, TN. Van was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a 1967 graduate of Oakwood High School. He enjoyed continuing his education over the years at Sinclair Community College and Dayton Daily News thru their computer classes. He was employed as an advertising sales assistant for Dayton Daily News for over 32 years. His significant donation made possible the purchase of the We Care Art facility in 2003. We Care Arts improves peoples lives thru artistic pursuits. Van was a member of the “Ye Old Buzz Fuzz” and was an avid Bengals and Dragons fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Alice Wilshire Berkeley. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Donna of Centerville; 1 sister, Anne C. Berkeley of Evanston, IL; godfather to niece, Dinah Berkeley of Evanston, IL; other nieces, Melodi Clark of Columbus, OH, Suzan Jackson of Delaware, OH, Rana Tin of Columbus, OH; 1 nephew, Derin Tin of Delaware, OH; 1 great niece, Seanna Clark of Columbus, OH; and several other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastors Thomas Prochaska and Roger Schalnat officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 12:30 until time of service.
