Vera A. Brown

age 81, passed away, Tuesday, January 1, 2002, in Dayton, Ohio. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Vera loved living in Ft. Myers, Florida and collecting sea shells during many years of retirement. Preceded in death by her husband, John Herschel Brown; a sister, Elva Galligher; and her parents, Robert F. and Gertrude A. Sample. Survived by her 3 sons, Spencer (Susan) Ankeney of Pittsburgh, PA, Lawrence (Marsha) Ankeney of Morriston, TN and Paul (Dorothy) Ankeney of Kettering, OH; her previous husband, Robert K. Ankeney of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. At the family's request, there will be no services. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
