OCONNOR, Virginia E., age 86, of Kettering, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 4, 2018 comforted by her loving daughter at her side. Ginny was born to the late Maxwell S. and Mabel K. (nee Brunsman) Bowman on May 21, 1932 in Dayton, OH.
She earned a bachelors degree in Psychology where she was a member of Alpha Delta PI Sorority. Ginny was a lifelong Girl Scout and served as camp director for Whip-Poor-Will-Hills. Later in life, she decided to continue helping others by becoming a registered nurse and earned her associates degree at Sinclair Community College. As a nurse she continued her service to others by volunteering with the American Red Cross Disaster Services.
Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Don OConnor. She is survived by 2 children, John Michael and Julie Ann OConnor; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Mathew, Joseph Maxwell, Jessy Leigh and John Kelly; 2 great-grandsons, Aidan and Bradley; sister, Jean (Don) Beckett; special friend, Patricia Oliver; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Gail Broadstock for all the dedicated loving care she gave to Ginny. Family will greet friends from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Woodland Cemetery.
