Virginia Hazen Taylor

age 79, passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at Hospice of Dayton. Born in Richmond, IN August 19, 1923. Virginia graduated from Richmond High School and attended Miami University in Oxford, OH and Sinclair Community College. She moved to San Diego, CA April 5, 1942 to marry her loving husband of 60 years, J. Richard Taylor. Virginia was a member of David's United Church of Christ, active in the Dayton's Woman's Guild, Choir and Path Finders. She had volunteered over 7000 hours at Kettering Medical Center. Virginia had a love for the piano and organ, as well as art and gardening. Survived by her loving husband, J. Richard Taylor; sons, Robert R. and wife Karen of Waverly, PA, James W. and wife Rita of Bloomfield Hills, MI; Laura E. and husband, James (Mickey) Yates of Xenia, Carolee T. and her husband, J. Michael Jakes of McLean, VA, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 25, 10:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Rev. William Youngkin officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday at Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, IN. Memorial service will be held at Earlham Cemetery Mausoleum prior to internment. Family will receive friends from 1-4:00 PM, Sunday, November 24, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to the Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. She will be missed by all of those who loved her, family, friends, and her extended family throughout the Dayton & Richmond area.
