CAMERON, Virginia Leggett, age 94, of Dayton, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012.
Virginia graduated from Nyack High School in Nyack, NY in 1934. She then went to achieve her Bachelors of Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing in 1939 then received her Masters of Nursing from Xavier University. Virginia served the United States Army as a nurse during WWII. She attended St. Michael and All Angels Church in Cincinnati. Virginia was very wise and enjoyed giving advice to other young nurses. She loved taking care of her garden and sewing.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas Brown Cameron, daughter, Ann Cameron Walsh, and sister, Ruth Wadlund. Virginia is survived by her children, Beth Cameron and John (Karen) Cameron; son-in-laws, John Wahl and Daniel Walsh; grandchildren, Mary, Kathleen, and Ian; sister, Priscilla (James) Boylan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the director of Grand Court Dayton Brookdale Senior Living, Connie Daniel, for all her care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 20, 2012 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering with a visitation following until 1:00 pm.
