Virginia Rose Lammers

August 14, 1924 — March 22, 2006

age 81, of Columbus, OH, and formerly of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at The Forum at Knightsbridge Blvd., Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Lammers, and by her parents, Julius and Pauline Rose, of St. Henry, OH. She is survived by her nine children; David and Mieko Lammers of Austin, TX, Judith and Earl Imhoff, Jr., of Cincinnati, OH; Mary and Ed Vogelsang of Baltimore, MD, Nancy Lammers and Tom Laverty of Alexandria, VA, Jane Lammers of San Diego, CA, Susan Lammers and Walter Euyang of Seattle, WA, Regina Lammers and Jeff Lewis, of Hueston, TX, Theresa Lammers of Cooperstown, NY and Jacquelyn Lammers Harper of Columbus and 19 grandchildren. She is survived by three sisters, Bernice and Leo Preti of Long Island, NY, Mary Ann and Jim Todd of Kettering and Janet and Dr. William Riley of Salt Lake City, UT. Following the death of Virginia’s husband in 1971, she became president of the family businesses and was an active member of the Soroptimist Club of Dayton. She joined Holy Angels Parish in 1959 and was a devoted member of the Dayton Christ Child Society and participated in the ladies nine-hole golf association at Dayton Country Club for 35 years. The family would like to express its appreciation for the support given to Virginia by members of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association and her many friends in the years following her husband’s death. In addition the family would like to extend their thanks to Jackie Harper as well as the staff at The Forum Senior Citizen’s Center in Columbus during her long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Mass of Christian will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 218 K. St., Dayton, with Father Dan Meyer officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 4-7:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In memory of Virginia, contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Notre Dame De Namur Retirement Fund, 701 E. Columbia Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45215.
