KETTERING, Virginia Weiffenbach, age 95, of Kettering passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2003 at Kettering Medical Center. Virginia is preceded in death by husbands, Eugene W. Kettering and H. Warren Kampf and son, Charles F. Kettering II. Survived by 2 daughters, Jane Lombard of New York and Susan (Peter) Williamson of New Hampshire; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. There will be private services, family only. Entombment in Woodland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Kettering requested that any donations go to the charities that she has supported during her life. Arrangements by Routsong Funeral Home. Family: Parents were Daytonians - Norman and Clara Weiffenbach. Her Father was an Architect and the largest U.S. Importer of Italian Marble. Virginia Weiffenbach And Eugene Williams Kettering were married April 5, 1930. The Ketterings' moved from Dayton to Cleveland, Ohio - to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan - to Hinsdale, Illinois, and back to Dayton in 1960. They had 3 children: Jane K. Lombard, Susan K. Williamson And Charles F. Kettering, II. There are 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren to date. A Woman In Her Own Right: Mrs. Kettering, after the death of her husband, completed Kettering Memorial Hospital / Ridgeleigh Terrace (The Kettering Home) was donated to the Hospital for use by patients undergoing Mental Health Treatment. The Air Force Museum was constructed largely due to her work. Mrs. K initiated Dayton's Holiday Parade And Festival.. The Renovation of the Victoria; The Expansion of the D.A.I.; The Archeological Digs by the Dayton Museum Of Natural History - Sunwatch; An Astute Business Woman - The Kettering Tower - Condominium Complex.
