Vivian L. Byrkett

BYRKETT, Vivian Lucille, 86, of Kettering, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. She was born on October 2, 1921 in Putnam County, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Stella (Casteel) Keeran. She was a long time member of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Vivian graduated from Leipsic High School, Leipsic, Ohio and Miami Jacobs College, Dayton, Ohio. She worked as a secretary at both Standard Register, Dayton, OH and Wright Field Engineering Shops Laboratory during World War II. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rosemary Filbrun; sister-in-law, Hildred Byrkett; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Ruth Byrkett. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elwood “Pete” Byrkett; two sons, Donald Byrkett and wife, Paula, Oxford, Ohio, Bruce Byrkett and wife Norma, Preston, Washington, and one daughter, Jane Nickerson and husband, Steve, Xenia, Ohio. She is survived by six granddaughters, Elizabeth Killy, Jennifer Jensen, Kathryn Byrkett, Colleen Byrkett, Carrie Rothman, and Kimberly Byrkett, four great-grandchildren, Jessica Killy, Elise Killy, Nathan Jensen and Samuel Jensen. She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Rayle, Leipsic, Ohio and Margie Stevenson, McComb, Ohio; eight nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 10:00AM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, Ohio with Reverend David P. Turner officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9-10:00AM prior to the funeral. Burial services will follow at Wheelock Cemetery near West Milton.
