VINSON, Wallace, G. "Wally", age 88 of Kettering, Ohio, passed away August 12, 2015. Wally was born November 29, 1926, in Depoy, Kentucky, to the late Newman and Marjorie Vinson. He worked 25 years for NCR, and 10 years with Frigidaire and General Motors as a Maintenance Supervisor. Wally served his country during WWII on Destroyer Escort #681 in the Pacific Theator. He was a member of Knollwood Lodge #774 F&AM, AASR in the Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shriners Oriental Band, the Milton Club, and Dayton Two Steppers Dance Group. He was an avid wood worker of all sorts of craft items. Wally is preceded in death by his late wife, Dorothy Vinson (2003) and son, David Vinson (2011). He is survived by his wife, Judy; 9 children, Terri (Bill) Duncan, Margie (Terry) Turner, Ronald, Richard (Tina), Roger, Robert and Michelle Kronenberger, Melinda (Brett) Heizer and Marie Ellis; 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm with Masonic services at 7:00pm on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering. A funeral service at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Church of the Cross, 3121 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, OH, Pastor John Whitaker officiating, with burial afterwards at Dayton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Shrine Children Hospital, 3229 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45229, and Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.
