Walter Allen Doughman, a cherished member of the community, passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 86 in Oregonia, OH. Walter was born on December 29, 1937, to the late Stanley Milard and Mary Eva Doughman in Warren County, OH.

 

After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1955, Walter proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine. His dedication and commitment to the nation were admirable and exemplified his strong sense of duty.

 

Following his military service, Walter began his career at Frigidaire, where he worked diligently for over 30 years. Later, he brought his skills to Harrison Radiator, displaying his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his craft.

 

Walter had many passions in life, including woodworking, a hobby that brought him great joy. Known for his artistic touch, he would carve and build furniture, leaving a piece of his craftsmanship for generations to come. In the great outdoors, Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the thrill of hunting for mushrooms. His adventurous spirit led him to explore all 50 states in the United States as well as several provinces in Canada.

 

A man of enormous talent and ingenuity, Walter's skills as a handyman were unmatched. He possessed an innate ability to fix anything, and even designed and built his own home, showcasing his true mastery of carpentry.

 

Walter was an active and involved member of the community. He joined various clubs, including the Woodworking Club, Good Samaritan Camping Club, and the North American Hunting Club. He found comfort and solace in his faith as a long-standing member of Oregonia United Methodist Church.

 

Walter was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph Stephen Doughman, in 1999. He leaves behind a profound legacy and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 49 years, Delores A. Doughman, his loving sons, Randy (Jodi) Seitner and Jeff (Peggy) Seitner, his four granddaughters, and his seven great-grandchildren. His memory will be forever cherished by his sisters, Ruth, Lois, and Bert.

 

Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Walter Doughman. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 10 am to 11 am at Routsong Funeral Home, located at 81 N Main St, Centerville.
