Waltraut Hübner Lafferty

LAFFERTY, Waltraut Hübner, age 80, of Franklin, Ohio, formerly of Amberg, Germany, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Waltraut was born November 3, 1941 in Gross-Herlitz/Troppau, Germany. A sweet, caring and gentle soul, Waltraut enjoyed working in her yard and planting flowers. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who frequently reminisced about her homeland and her love of good German food. Our mother loved playing Mensch ärgere Dich nicht (board game) with family, traveling to new places, and savoring a good cup of coffee with a pastry.

Preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Else (Bartsch) Hübner; her husband, George Lafferty; and sisters, Elly Hirschberger and Christa Fraley. She is survived by her daughters who will forever cherish her memory, Susan (Taylor) Secrist, Lebanon, Ohio and Sheila Lafferty, Grandview Heights, Ohio; her only (and favorite) grandson, Kyle (Maddie) Secrist, Mason, Ohio; siblings, Rosa Graudins, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Anni Hübner, Hamburg, Germany; and Dieter Hübner, Berlin, Germany; nieces, Sibylle Widmann, Larissa Graudins and Tracey Fraley; nephews, Thomas Hirschberger, and Mark Fraley.

A private Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
