Wanda C. Peters

PETERS, Wanda, (Clevenger), age 83 of Kettering passed away at the Ebeid Hospice Residence of Sylvania, Ohio on Friday, March 8, 2013. Wanda was born in Dayton on November 30, 1929 to Franklin J and Alveta (Kenney) Clevenger. She attended Stivers High School and graduated from the Patterson Cooperative High School as the class valedictorian in 1947. After being employed by NCR, she married James C. Peters in 1951. Wanda was also employed by Washington Centerville Public Library, retiring after 19 years. She continued to enjoy friendships with her library co-workers over the years. A longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was active in the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed family trips, beach combing, cats, and crossword puzzles. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Peters in 1988, her parents, a sister, Edna Clevenger Leis and two brothers, Willard and Glenn Clevenger. Wanda was a generous and devoted mother and grandmother to her three daughters and their families. She is survived by her daughters: Karen and her husband, Ryan Cotton of Grand Haven, Michigan; Susan and her husband, Neeraj Kanwal of Toledo, Ohio; and Jamie and her husband, Don Aubry, also of Toledo. Grandchildren: Annie and her fianc, Jason Arends, Jillian, and Ted Cotton; Allison, Mallory, and Trevor Kanwal; and Joey, Paige, and Cori Aubry, friends and special neighbors. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 11a.m. in the chapel of Christ United Methodist Church in Kettering. Friends can meet with the family prior to the service from 10 to 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton, OH 45417.
