Wayne Horton Marks

MARKS, Wayne H., age 82, of Kettering passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Suites of Walnut Creek. He was born in Delaware, OH to the late Carl and Frances Marks on March 10, 1932. Wayne was a graduate of Delaware Willis High School and Ohio Wesleyan University and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He was a partner in the firm of Battelle & Battelle CPAs from 1957-1997, upon his retirement he worked for the Dayton Foundation from 1998-2005. He was a member of David's United Church of Christ, a member of St. John's Lodge F & AM, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Marks; daughter Lisa (Darrell) Purvis; son, Lawrence (Sandra) Plants; 3 grandsons, Clinton Plants, Samuel Purvis and Michael Fuller; siblings, Sarah Hawkins of Delaware, OH, Martha Burns of Elyria, OH, Carlene and Ralph Burroughs of Durham, NC, and James Marks of Sutter Creek, CA. Family will greet friends and loved ones from 12-2 on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation. A private family burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
