Wilburn "Bill" Cawood

CAWOOD, Wilburn "Bill", age 91, of Kettering passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was born on November 23, 1921 in Cawood, KY to the late Chad and Nancy Cawood. Bill graduated from Hall Memorial High School in 1940, attended Eastern Kentucky University and then went to earn his Associates from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Bill served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a graphic illustrator for over 20 years and earned many certificates of appreciation while there. Bill was very artistic and enjoyed oil painting, carving soap, and calligraphy. He was a hardworking and loving husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva, who passed on July 17, 1978, and his brothers, Hiram, Milburn, and Clarence. He is survived by his children, Deborah (Eric) Wallace, Donna Cawood and Dan (Eileen) Cawood; grandchildren, Michael Armstrong, Geneva (Chris) Sluder, Dina Rodriguez, Nathaniel, Wesley, Anna and Jonathan Cawood; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Rebecca, and Zackery; sister, Helen Cornett; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main Street, Centerville. Family will greet friends one hour before the service. Burial will be at David's Cemetery.
