GLOVER, Wilfred A., II, 'Bill', age 80, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at Heartland of Centerville, Centerville, OH. He was born August 30, 1923, in Youngstown, OH, a son of Wilfred A. Glover, Sr. and Virginia Strawderman Glover. Bill lived on Shadyside Drive in Boardman, OH, and was a 1943 graduate of Boardman High School. He was in the Boardman Hall of Fame for his winning State Mile Race in Columbus. Bill served as a gunners mate in the Navy in WWII. He married Donna M. Sauer in 1946 and they had three sons; Wilfred A., III, “Chip” of Jacksonville, FL, Grey A. (Joyce) of Virginia Beach, VA, and John A. (Kay) of Centerville, OH. He had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In 1977, Bill was honored by the Curbstone Coaches Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Saxon Club, Youngstown, OH; L.S.T. Association, WWII; V.F.W., Kettering, OH; Boardman Ohio Hall of Fame – H.S. State Champ 1943 Mile Run; and Iron Workers Local 207, retiring in 1987. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Youngstown, OH. The family will visit with friends following the service.
