YAREMA, Willard A., age 82, of Centerville, born in Manitoba, Canada on January 30, 1929. He became a United States citizen in 1960. He passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Dayton.
He was a devoted husband, loving father. He was an icon of Dayton, giving 52 years to the medical community, doing CCK tests, genetic testing and GI cytology. Trained at the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University, where he was chosen to do a genetics fellowship. He joined the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he opened the first GI Cytology and Genetic Counseling Laboratories in Dayton. October 1987, he opened Miami Valley Cytology where he served the medical community doing the GI testing. He also was a member of the Antioch Shriners.
Preceded in death by brother, John and sister, Catherine. Willard is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Laura, Julie and Sandra; grandson, David; three sisters, Vickie, Olivia, and Virginia; and brother, Morley.
The family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 with a Masonic service at 7:30pm at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 81 N. Main St., Centerville OH 45459. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, OH 45459.
