Willard Edgar Mockabee

MOCKABEE, Willard (Bill) Edgar, age 94, of Kettering, died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Julia C. (Elliot) Mockabee, his parents Tom O. and Lilly (Prether) Mockabee, his brothers Thomas, Raymond, Ralph and sister Marie Long. He is survived by daughters Judy Parken of Austin Texas; Janet Fryman of Charleston, SC: son, Larry E. Mockabee of Orlando, FL.; and his brother, Donald Mockabee of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren, Becky Sorensen, Ted Parken, Matt Fryman, Bill Fryman, Scott Mockabee, Lauren Bartz; and 11 great grandchildren. He was a resident of Centerville and Oakwood for most of his life until shortly before his 90th birthday when he moved to Orlando, FL to be with his son, Larry and family. He was a long-time member of David's Church, serving as a deacon and treasurer many years ago. He also served in the US Army during WW II. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5:00-7:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, OH. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13 at 10:00 am at David's Church, 204 W. David Rd. Interment will be at David's Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to David's Church.
