COOK, William A., age 82, born April 14, 1923 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, son of Percy and Mildred Cook and a longtime resident of Kettering, died Monday, May 30, 2005 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Survived by Marilynn Alley Cook, wife of 60 years, daughters, Linda Scoglietti (Tony) of Cleveland, and Sharon Anderson (Richard) of Oxford; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Bill was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church. He attended the University of Cincinnati, and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wadsworth during World War II. Bill worked at Frigidaire (Moraine), Acme Precision Products, and retired from Delco Moraine. He loved to play golf and also enjoyed bowling, softball and basketball. He and his wife Marilynn traveled widely throughout the United States and spent winters in Destin, FL. Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 4:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Dayton, Hospice of Dayton or the Memorial Fund at Oakwood United Methodist Church.
