LUTHER, William A., Jr., age 82 of Kettering, died Monday, July 10, 2000. He was born on April 2, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to William A. Sr. and Florence (Parent) Luther and spent his youth in Sycamore Illinois and lived most of his adult life in Kettering. William graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1943. He retired from GM Delco-Moraine Division after 38 years of service and was a member of the Delco Moraine Retirees Club and the 25 Year Club. William was a former member of the American Society of Metals, the Engineers Club of Dayton, and was one of the founders of the First Kettering Athletic League. Preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Joseph Luther of San Diego, CA and Larry Luther who died in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. Survived by his spouse of 50 years, Margaret ''Genny'' (Lohnes); 2 sons, Peter and his wife Sallie and 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren of Oakwood and Casey Scott Luther of Dayton; a sister-in-law, Joanne Luther of San Diego, CA; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. It was the desire of William that there be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday at David's Cemetery, 4500 Mad River Rd., Kettering with Robert H. Wade officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stillwater Center Restricted Fund, 8100 N. Main St., Dayton, Ohio 45415 or charity of your choice.
