HALCOMB, William, age 89 of Dayton, passed away January 5, 2016. William was born December 4, 1926 in Linefork, KY to the late Fitzhugh and Cindy Halcomb.
William was a charter member of Miami Valley House of Faith Church, and also volunteered for many years at Springcreek Nursing Home and Riverside Nursing Home. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired after 31 years from General Motors.
William was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Nathan Halcomb; brother, Astor (Helen) Halcomb; and 2 sisters, Alma Miles and Iva Jean Halcomb. He is survived by his wife, Norma; sister, Martha Asher; brother-in-law, Forrest (Judy) Freeze; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Thomas Morrow and Pansy Bohannon for the care they gave to William.
Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 8, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
