William "Bill" H. Schreck

SCHRECK, William "Bill" H., age 86, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014. Bill graduated from Patterson H.S., served his country in the Air Force and worked at Ohio Bell/AT&T for 43 years. He attended Far Hills Baptist Church for over 30 years and was a member of the Kettering Senior Citizens and the Epilepsy Association. In Bill's free time, he loved to coach baseball, play cards, golf, watch the Reds play and volunteered at Kettering Hospital, where he happily gave 11, 000 plus hours of volunteered time. Bill is preceded in death by his son, Ken Schreck and parents, Florence and Louis Schreck. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Schreck; daughter, Mary (Dave) Hawkey; grandchildren, Nick (Christine) Hawkey, Travis Hawkey, Krista Hawkey, Alexandra Schreck and Christopher Schreck; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Troy, Courtney, Jaiden and Joselyn; daughter-in-law, Cathy Schreck and brother-in-law, George (Linda) Cavanaugh. Family will greet friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the volunteers at Kettering Hospital.
