HUMEN, William “Bill”, age 85, of Centerville, passed away at home on Friday, July 30, 2004. He was born in Detroit, MI and graduated from the Henry Ford Trade School Detroit, MI. Bill retired in 1980 after 39 years from the Chrysler Corporation. He was part of a team that helped developed a Hemi Engine Plant in Adelaide, South Australia. Bill was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Navy in 1944 and 1945. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and the Leisure Club with Church of The Incarnation where he coordinated the Leisure Club’s Golf outings for several years. Preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Pearl nee Gerus, brother Eugene and sister, Eva. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice; his sons, Tom (Mary Beth) Humen of Bethesda, MD; Jim (Laura) Humen of Libertyville, IL; grandchildren, Kathleen and Christian and Hayley, Dana and Patrick; and sister, Stella of Detroit, MI. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM, on August 3rd at Church of The Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville with Father Lawrence Mierenfeld officiating. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
