RANDOLPH, William “Bill”, age 69, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He spent his entire adult life in the criminal justice system. Bill began his career with the Ohio State Patrol where he served as a trooper and as a criminal investigator prior to joining the Centerville Police Department where he retired as Chief of Police in 1983. He received an Associate Degree from Sinclair Community College, a Bachelor Degree from the University of Dayton, Magna Cum Laude and received his law degree from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Magna Cum Laude. Bill then began a new phase of his career as an Attorney at Law, and then as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Montgomery County where he prosecuted organized crime. He then served as Special Counsel to the Ohio Organized Crime Task Force. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason belonging to the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Past Master of Centerville Rock Moriah Lodge #740 F&AM. Although Bill will be greatly missed, he has earned that rest and we know that he will sleep well in the arms of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by daughter, Melissa Lynn, parents, John and Mattie Lee Randolph and sister, Martha Garrett. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janice Randolph; 2 daughters, Sandy (Ken) Mills of Cleveland and Janet (Dave) Wolf of Springboro; son, Bill Randolph Jr. of Kettering; 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Shane, Stephen, Brooke, April, and Jenna; 1 great-grandchild, Tabitha; 2 step-grandchildren, David and Krista; 1 step-great-grandchild, Alexis and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 10;00 AM, 2005 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Burial in Centerville Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-8:00 PM with Masonic services at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The children would like to give special thanks to all the friends who were so supportive during our father’s illness.
