William Bliss Ayres, Md

AYRES, William Bliss, MD, age 94, passed away at his residence Saturday, September 18, 2010. Dr. Ayres was a 50 year member of the American Medical Association; Ohio State and Montgomery County Medical Societies. He was a graduate of Northwestern Medical School and interned at Miami Valley Hospital in 1940. Dr. Ayres retired in 1984 from family practice in Dayton, OH. He served in the U. S. Air Force in World War II with a tour of duty at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base�s Flight Surgeon�s Office with the 348th fighter group in the Southwest Pacific. Dr. Ayres was a flying enthusiast and pilot for more than 40 years and a member of the Flying Physicians Association as well as a FAA Medical Flight Examiner. His warm smile and kind manner will be remembered by all. Dr Ayres was preceded in death by his wife, M. Dorothy; son, Richard L. Ayres; parents, Ernest and Florence Ayres and brother, Dr. R.W. Ayres. Survived by daughters, Rosemary Lynn Ayres of Centerville, OH; Eileen (Kevin) Sarb of Dearborn, MI; grandchildren, Kellen and Eric Sarb; and numerous dear nephews and nieces. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010, at 10:30AM at The Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave. Centerville, OH 45459. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 5-7:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429.
