William Calvert

age 88, of Outlook Point Retirement Center, Xenia, formerly of Oakwood, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000, at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born August 12, 1912, in Hillsboro, Ohio, son of the late William Calvert and Lucy Kerns Calvert. Dr. Calvert was a member of Christ Methodist Church of Dayton. He received his degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University and The Ohio State University Dental College. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He practiced dentistry in Dayton for 40 years and was a member of the American Dental Association, The Ohio State Dental Society and was a life member of the Dayton Dental Society. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Shannon Calvert. They were married January 1, 1938. Survived by 2 daughters, Constance (David) Bailey and Catherine (Phillip) Fay, both of Wilmington; 4 grandchildren, Katie (Gregg) Collett and Laura (Chris) Moyer of Wilmington, Michael Fay of Chicago and Bryan Fay of Sharonville; and 3 great grandsons, Ryan and Cameron Collett and Andrew Moyer. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28th, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., Oakwood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Smith Memorial Gardens, City of Oakwood, 105 Patterson Rd., Dayton OH 45419 or to Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Dayton OH 45429.
