HENDRICKS, Sr., William G. “Bill” 77, passed away in peace on November 17, 2006. Born as the 11th of 13 children in Kentucky to James Gilbert Hendricks and Effie Lee Rainey Hendricks on June 9, 1929. The family moved to Oxford, Ohio where he attended McGuffey School and Miami University. He served in the US Air Force. He was married to his one love, Norma Jean Young, at David’s Church in Kettering and celebrated more than 51 years of a wonderful marriage. He raised his family while working as an accountant in manufacturing. They have three children and two treasured daughters-in-law, Karen, Bill and Joanie, and Michael and Karyn. He was a devoted grandfather to Kristen, Kaitlyn, Matt, Alie, Paul, Jordan and Alex. He especially enjoyed watching Miami University sporting events, participating in sports and water exercise classes and watching his grandchildren’s activities. He was a member of David’s UCC and was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. Family and friends were very important to him, including his six surviving brothers and sisters and many dear nieces and nephews. A service for the celebration of his life will be led by the Revs. Janet St. Cyr and Rebecca Erb Strang and will be held at David’s UCC, 170 West David Road, in Kettering, Ohio on Friday, November 24 at 2:30 PM, with a reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the David’s UCC Belfry Reconstruction fund or the Michael Family Scholarship Fund/ Dayton Foundation, 2300 Kettering, OH 45423.
