William Hiram Tisinger

TISINGER, William H., age 87, a native of Houston, TX and a Dayton resident for many years passed away on June 16, 2011. William attended John Reagan High School in Houston, TX, and the Montana School of Mines and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a B. S. in Chemical Engineering. He served in the U. S. Navy in WWII and the Korean War during which he was assigned to the Materials Section of the Aircraft Production Resources Agency at Wright Patterson AFB. William had a successful engineering career while employed for the General Motors divisions of Frigidaire, Delco Air and Harrison Radiator. In 1983, he received the prestigious award "Outstanding Scientist of the Year" for his research in the materials engineering field. William was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Honorary Chemical Society-Phi Lambda Upsilon, Society of Automotive Engineers and the Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis P. and Ethel A. Tisinger; and a brother, Louis H. Tisinger. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Magdalene and his children, Adrienne Tisinger of Dayton: son, Louis and his wife Anna Tisinger of Winfield, Illnois; sister, Josie Woodward of Harlingen, TX; grandchildren, William Erik, Julianna and Jack Tisinger; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00PM on Monday, June 20, 2011 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Trisagion Prayers at 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park North, Dayton, OH 45405 on Tuesday, June 21, at 10:00PM with Father Mark Emroll officiating.
