HUGHES, William R., age 80 of Miami Township, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. Bill served in the Army during WWII in the Medical Corp. He was a member of Memorial Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for over 20 years. He was a current member Eastern Star Masonic Lodge #55 F. & A.M., a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners, and had worked at Borden’s Dairy for over 35 years. Preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 1 sister. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Eulene Hughes; daughter, Sandy (John) Chandler of Centerville; son, Jeffrey (Tracy) Hughes of Huber Heights; sister, Mattie Mastin of Irvine, KY; and 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2003 at 11:00 AM, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In memory of Bill, contributions may be sent to the Veterans Administration Hospice, 4100 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45417.
