O'NEILL, William S. "Billy", age 86, of Kettering, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on March 28, 1929 in Dayton, OH to the late William S. and Anna O'Neill.
After graduating from The University of Dayton with a degree in history, he served for three years in the United States Army Intelligence in Germany during the Korean War. Billy was an Advertising Executive and co-owner of ROLCO for 25 years. He was a legendary tennis champion, a charter member of Virginia Hollinger Tennis Club, and a humble, gentle man.
Billy is preceded in death by his sisters, Julie Hentzell and Nancy Hoffman; and his brother, Harry O'Neill. Surviving are his sister Kay Nelson; nieces and nephews, Leslie Nogle, Bill Nelson, Robert (Donna) Nelson, Lori Brune, Bill (Missy Kuhns) Hoffman, Carla Patient, Jeffrey (Anne) O'Neill, Pamela O'Neill, Michael O'Neill, and Cathy O'Neill; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was a devoted brother and uncle.
The family would like to thank Walnut Creek Nursing Center and Kettering Hospital ICU for their wonderful care.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with The Rev. Dr. John S. Paddock officiating. Family will greet friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
