GRAUMANN, William S., age 96, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Cape May Court House, NJ for 52 years, passed away on Thursday, February 4th, 2015. William was born to the late William and Anna Graumann in Philadelphia, PA on November 10, 1919.
He graduated from Wildwood H.S. in 1938 and attended Trenton State College until he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Merchant Marines. William was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Stone Harbor, NJ. He had a love of history, trains, building clocks and tending to his vegetable garden. William enjoyed volunteering at the Cape May County Historical Society. He worked as an Electrical Mechanic for the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation and worked on drawbridges.
William is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ruth; daughter, Barbara R. Columbus of OH and Nancy G. (Harry) Daughtery of FL; son, Thomas W. Graumann of FL; 3 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter and 3 great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Museum of Cape May County, 504 Route 9 North Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Services will be held in the spring of 2016.
