William Schuerholz

SCHUERHOLZ, Sr., William "Bill" H., of Kettering, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Bill was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 27, 1919 to the late Charles A. and Anna Schuerholz. He grew up in a Salvation Army family which allowed him the opportunity to live in many different parts of our country. Bill settled in Kettering after serving in the US Army overseas during WWII. He sang in the Orpheus Male Chorus for many years, was an usher at Memorial Hall for over twenty years and was active at Christ United Methodist Church in Kettering. Bill followed in his father's footsteps in learning magic at a young age and became a professional magician entertaining for many organizations. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, member of the Scottish Rite of Dayton, John W. Durst Grand Lodge and a 26 year member of the Kettering Rotary Club. He was a Dayton Flyers Basketball season ticket holder for 44 years. He and Ivy founded Schuerholz Graphics in 1974 and took great pride in being part of the Kettering community. We'll miss him"you behave." Bill is survived by his wife, Ivy of 62 years; daughter, Jan S. (Keith) Schuerholz-Pearcy; sons, William H., Jr., Jeffrey of Los Angeles and Charles A.(Judy); sister, Etta Moran of Rogue River, Oregon; brother-in-law, Herbert Martin and his son Jim, of Crabtree, Oregon; granddaughter, Amy (Josh) Emond and her mother, Johnell (David) Jones of Edmonds, Washington and great-granddaughters, Makenzi and Aly. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering at 5:00 p.m. with Dr. Rev Paul Stuckey officiating. Visitation will immediately follow from 5:30 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kettering Rotary Club, P.O. Box 292152, Kettering, OH 45429 or to the Salvation Army, Dayton Central Corps, New Activity Center Fund, 138 S. Wilkinson Street, Dayton, OH 45402.
