Darling, William S. Scotty passed away June 20, 2017 at his home In West Carrollton, OH. Scotty was born in Scotland September 12, 1936 to William and Elizabeth Ella who preceded him in death. Remaining family members include: daughter, Heather (Mark) Short; granddaughters, Caroline and Sienna in Virginia; brother, Allan (Elaine) Darling in Scotland; sister, Jean (Mike) Constable, and nieces and nephews in the United Kingdom. Scotty is also mourned by his extended family of friends and retired coworkers.
Having started at NCR in Scotland at a young age, Scotty immigrated when he was 19 to continue working for NCR in the United States. He worked in various divisions and eventually became an instructor and course developer at NCRs Technical Education Center in Miamisburg. His NCR career spanned more than 50 years. Scotty was proud to have served in the United States Army. One of his favorite memories was serving in the honor guard at the inauguration of President Kennedy. Scotty loved going to Scottish festivals, proudly proclaiming his heritage by wearing an authentic Scottish kilt of his familys tartan. Scotty enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the NCR Country Club.
Services will be Sunday, July 23, at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering, OH. The gathering will begin at 12PM with a short service to follow at 12:30PM.
