RISNER, Winifred Lorane, "Winnie", age 81, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on April 27, 2017 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties in Middletown, Ohio. Winnie was born in New Lebanon, OH October 13, 1935, to the late Ola Mae and Harvey Landis and was the youngest of seven children. She attended Jefferson High School and graduated in 1953. Later in life, she attended Miami University in Middletown, Ohio, and earned an associate's degree in library technology. Winnie worked as a children's librarian for the Dayton Metro Public Library system for over 20 years. Winnie was an active member of Normandy United Methodist Church, serving as the church librarian and helping with the annual church bazaar. She was also a member of the Centerville Historical Society, Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.), and volunteered at the Cox Arboretum library. She enjoyed gardening, reading, vacationing, playing games, and spending time with friends and family. In addition to her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by two brothers Burlin and John Landis, and two sisters Treva Spaite and Naomi Baker. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Richard Risner, brother Harold Landis of Phoenix, Maryland, brother Robert Landis of Melbourne, Florida, son Kevin Risner of Centerville, Ohio, daughter Stephanie Goudreau and husband Chris Goudreau of Marion, North Carolina, and three grandchildren, Nathan, Helen, and Jacob. A service in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, May 3rd at Normandy First United Methodist Church at 11am with the Reverend James Riggs officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 to 11am prior to the service. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Normandy United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Normandy Church Endowment Fund, 450 West Alex-Bell Road, Dayton, Ohio, 45459. Condolences may be left in Winnie's online guestbook at Routsong Funeral Home. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Miami Valley Hospital, Ohio's Hospice and Winnie's niece Barbara Sterling for their support in her final days.
