age 82 of Dayton, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000. For 25 years, she was a teacher with the Beavercreek Public Schools. She was born on Sept. 23, 1918 in New Castle, PA, the daugther of the Rev. Frederick B. and Gretchen Ann (Haslem) McAllister. Winifred was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology. She did post graduate studies at Miami University in Ohio, Wright State University and the University of Dayton and received her teaching certificate from Miami University. Winifred was employed by the Youngstown Vindicator as a Radio Editor; ZIV Company in Advertising, Cincinnati Enquirer as Society Editor; HQ-USAFE (Headquarters, United State Air Forces Europe) A-1 Awards and Decorations; Dayton Daily News as Executive Secretary; an Elementary school teacher at The Miami Valley School and the Ohio Soldier and Sailor's Home, Xenia, OH. As a partner, planned, organized and operated a private Kindergarten. Her military service includes, WAAC (Women's Army Auxiliary Corp)- Officer's Candidate School; WAC (Women's Army Corp) - Training Officer; Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; WAC Company Commander - Patterson Field, OH; Headquarters USAF, duty with the State Department, Office of Foreign Liquidation; HQ-EUCOM - OPOT; HQ-USAFE A-1 - Personnel Services Division, Awards and Decorations; and WAF Staff Director. She worked with Dayton Public Library in helping the Children's Reading Program; was a member of Friends of Children, a Wright State University education program; was active in the Montgomery 4-H clubs as a club leader and was an avid breeder, trainer, and exhibitor of Appaloosa horses. Survived by her husband, Willis F. Wallbaum; 2 daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wallbaum Hladky and Irene Louise Wallbaum (Magee); a son, Donald Frederick Wallbaum; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Magee and Michelle Lynn Magee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. , Wednesday in the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Inc., P.O.
